At Procure Foods, we are committed to revolutionizing equitable food access by empowering BIPOC farmers and transforming hospital food systems. Through our partnership with Innoculated Farms, we are building an innovative procurement platform that directly connects local farmers—including the Innoculated mushroom farm—with large institutional hospital buyers.
Innoculated Farms started as a vision to create access, equity, and opportunity in food procurement. Led by BIPOC farmers and industry experts, we recognized a gap: hospitals needed better ingredients, and local farmers needed stable buyers. With 7 years of national account management experience, our co-founder, Joseph Aochoa, understood how to build strong institutional partnerships. Combined with our team’s deep knowledge of sustainable agriculture, we launched a first-of-its-kind platform to bring BIPOC-grown, high-quality produce into large-scale institutional purchasing. Today, we’re empowering small farmers, transforming hospital meals, and proving that food sourcing can be both ethical and efficient.
We’re just getting started—our work continues to grow, creating lasting change in food procurement, sustainability, and public health.
We believe that fresh, high-quality food should be accessible to all. By breaking down barriers for BIPOC farmers, we’re ensuring hospitals and institutions source ethically and sustainably—supporting economic empowerment and food sovereignty. Through our platform, we create fair market opportunities that allow small farmers to thrive, strengthening local economies and ensuring healthier food reaches those who need it most.
Health is the priority. Hospitals and farms are the heart of shaping nutrition and public health. We make it easy to serve fresh healing food that improves patient recovery and overall well-being. By prioritizing nutrient-dense, locally sourced ingredients, we help hospitals create menus that support long-term health, reduce diet-related illnesses, and enhance the quality of care for every patient.
We’re building a better food system. By connecting hospitals with local, sustainably grown produce, we reduce food miles, cut carbon emissions, and support regenerative agriculture—ensuring a healthier planet and stronger communities. Our commitment to waste reduction and circular food economies ensures that every ingredient is utilized efficiently, benefiting both the environment and the communities we serve.
Our team is a dedicated group of farmers, food advocates, procurement experts, and culinary innovators working to transform institutional food systems. With deep roots in BIPOC farming, sustainable agriculture, and large-scale procurement, we bring the expertise, passion, and vision needed to bridge the gap between local farmers and hospital buyers. Together, we are building a more just, sustainable, and health-focused food system—one farm, one meal, and one partnership at a time.
